Worldwide has played several major tournaments this year. They had a lot of young talent and finished in Final 8 in two major events. The organization has produced J. J. Hickson, a McDonald All-American last year and this year the team was led by 6-7 Dequan Jones.

The Georgia Blazers have been a very consistent team this year without their 7-0 Center Xavier Gibson. Coach Tony Adams and Colie Young's team have won a major tournament and have placed in the Final Four in two other major tournaments. The play of point guard 5-9 Andre Young has been phenomenal. Young has established himself as the top PG in Georgia.. His supporting casts are 6-5 WF Kelvin Martin, 6-3 Reggie Shephard, 6-4 Jarman Fortson and 6-5 Javis Jones.

2006 Preview of Inner Strength Boy's Basketball

Inner Strength is headed by CEO Larry Dartman, Executive Director Buck Jenkins and Program Director Derek Dickerson. Inner Strength came into existence 3 years ago. The program is designed to help youth become more productive and provide skills and life opportunities. Derek Dickerson who has been coaching for 11 years has had the opportunity to shape and mold the lives of youth through his Georgia Junior Hawks Program. Buck Jenkins also has been involved for several years in youth sports. The inner Strength Program has two quality men leading their youth basketball program. Their program has several D-1 prospect players: 6-6 SF Leonard Carr, 6-6 SF Markell Smith, 6-6 WF Jeron Belin and 6-6 SF Dominique Brown. Inner Strength young talent highly recruited Lorenzo Brown is a top high major prospect. Brown is on every college coach list. He's that talented. 5-8 PG Russell Powell is an up rising player who you will hear about. 6-6 Mario Vasser6-4 Kevon Jenkins. Look for Inner Strength to be a force on the round ball scene. Once gain the state of Georgia is rich in talent. Every week we feature a Georgia AAU team and all have good talent.

The Georgia Hurricanes have existed for only three years. Horace Neysmith who formally coached the Georgia Stars has been around ball all of his life. He is a former player at UMass and he coaches his highly talented son 6-5 Combo Guard Tony Neysmith. The 17 Under Hurricanes will be very talented this year, stated Coach Neysmith. We have at least 7 to 8 D-1 players, starting with 6-8 PF Tracy Smith and 6-5WF Zachary Graham.

The Georgia Stars continue to turn out talent. Norm Parker stated that the organization has produced over 175 scholarships within the fourteen years. Over 40 players played professional basketball in Europe or the NBA. The GA Stars currently have 5 players in the NBA. Parker keeps coming back because of the players such as Damien Wilkin, Kwame Brown who calls him on his birthday or at Christmas. Norm Parker also stated that the Georgia Stars has produced talent for years, but at the end of the day, players obtain scholarships and they develop into good citizens. This year, the 17 year-old team is coached by Coach Harold Thompson. Coach Thompson stated he's looking forward to this weekend at the Boo Williams NIKE Invitational. The 17U Georgia Stars will be led by 6-9 Gani Lawal who has committed to Georgia Tech.; 6-9 PF Jeremy Price, who committed to Georgia and 6-5 Lance Storrs who committed to Georgia Tech. Players to watch for are 6-5 WF Jamar Moore, 6-0 PG Adrian Williams, 6-4 SG John Lemon, 6-3 WF Risard Wise, 5-7 PG Sidney Harris, 6-6 Johntavious Rucker, 6-7 PF John Keye, 6-8 PF Mark Veazey and 6-6 Charles Corbin.
16 Under Georgia Stars is coached by Norris Bo Peak. The 16U team are off to a good start. They won the Columbus Riverfest, The Southern Shootout, The Marietta TCB Classic. Coach Norris feels good about the upcoming season. Coach Norris stated that the players are very disciplined and fundamentally sound. The team starts with 6-8 SF Al- Faroug Aminu, 6-4 WF Kelvin Murphy, 6-5 PG Tammer Smith, 6-10 C Tony Woods, 6-3 PG Tyrique Muhummed, 6-7 SF A. J. Hawkin, 6-6 SF Donald Rucker, 6-7 SF Wesley Witherspoon, 6-5 WF Eric Strong, 5-11 SG Steven Powell, 6-8 PF Devin Carter, 5-8 PG David Forest and 5-10 PG Detmius Holmes.

Georgia Stars 16Under Black Team
Team Accomplishments:
Georgia Stars 16U Black qualified for this year's 16U AAU Nationals by taking first at the North Augusta AAU Super Regional. They have also won the championship in both the 17U Division of the Hot Atlanta Tournament and the 16U Division of the Birmingham Metro Express AAU Super Regional. They are 15-0 heading into this weekend's Disney Easter Classic. Later this month they will play in the Houston Kingswood Classic. In May, they will play in the State AAU Tournament and the Nike MDC. In July, the 16U Black will play play in several major tournaments including the AAU Nationals. Their Coach is Moody Norris IV, 770-873-1916 and Assistant Coach is Neil Rainford.
