Toney participated in several major camps this past summer. Toney did great in the ABCD Camp in Teaneck, NJ, where he was one of the Top 10 Scorers averaging 14.0 ppg . Toney was Second in Scoring at the NBA Players Camp averaging 12.7 ppg. Toney led the NIKE Super Showcase in scoring averaging 35ppg. NIKE Supershow Case in Orlando, FL. In the NIKE Peach Jam in Augusta, GA, Toney averaged 13.5 ppg playing with the South Carolina Ravens. Toney helped the Ravens advance to the Semi-Finals.
His sophomore and junior year Toney led Jonesboro High School to back-to-back State Final Four and one State Final. Last year Toney averaged 28.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 4.0 apg.
Toney Douglas was the first player in class of 2004 in Georgia to make a verbal commitment. Toney is the first top junior in Auburn’s Basketball history to make an early commitment. He’s Auburn’s top recruits and will start at Auburn this summer 2004.
Toney had the privilege of playing against some top players this year, such as Shawn Livingston, Dwight Howard, Dayshaun Wright, Kyle Lowery, JR Smith and Darious Washington. Toney did great against these players and many others not mentioned.
Toney Douglas has 1,630 career points. Last year he scored 930 points. He broke all of his high school and most county records as an underclassman. He is one of the best basketball players that Clayton County has had. He is also the first player in Jonesboro High School’s history to sign a major D-1 scholarship for boys’ basketball.
